Reflections of a Hardy Christian boy

It is hard to believe that my boy is turning 18 May 29th, and graduating from High
school June 4th. It seems like yesterday when I recieved the call to pick him up. It was May 30, 1991 , I was getting ready for my evening shift at St marks hospital and Childrens Aid society called, the social worker Melba said "your baby is here, It's a boy come and get him" I just totally freaked out and told her I could not get off work. She laughed then calmed me down and saying "what would they do if you were in labor now call work and then layne and let me know how soon you can get here". I called Layne at work and then My parents and brother's. The agency is in Ogden , an hour drive from Salt lake, Layne and I did not speak a word until we arrived both in a happy "is this a dream" shock. One look at that baby and I knew it was meant to be, he was so tiny and I held him tight afraid they would want him back. We named him Christian Hardy After his Grandpa Hardy who he shares a birthday with, and after my grandpa his great Grandpa Chris.
He was greated by Grandparents George and Ann, Uncle Twain & Aunt Kathy and the cousins Sara, Brynn, Chelsea and Trey. The family brought diapers and all the things we needed for our Newborn son. It was one of my happiest moments. I thank God and his Birth Mother for this gift of life and allowing him to share his life with us.
We love you Chris!

My Boyz & Mothers day

I love my Boyz, they are good young men. The photo is taken by Lulubelle photography you should check out her blog site. Chris surprised me for Mothers day with a beautiful 18k gold cross necklace he was so excited he had picked it out and paid for it. Nate gave me a very interesting cactus to hang in our cactus garden, it is a banana cactus, I think it looks like dread locks! I love it! I'm very lucky to have such good boys, they are kind, friendly and loving. What more can a Mother want!

Nurses Week May 6-12th

Nurses Day is forgotten at my place of employment, They make it Employee Appreciation Week so everyone is included, they do not take the time to Thank the many Nurses who work here. This year we do not even get a gift due to the economy. If you have ever been ill and in a hopsital or needed assistance from that nurse care manager you know how important Nurses are to Americas Health. One good Nurse can make the difference to many lives. If you know a Nurse or have a family member that is a Nurse let them know how you appreciate them let them feel the love!
HAPPY NURSES DAY MY FELLOW NURSES!

Nate in his Goalie shirt

Here is Nate at half time in his yellow Goalie Shirt he is the best looking kid on the team!

Sports, men and soccer

I have probably had the worse experience ever trying to help out with Nate's soccer team, first there are two men who have to be in control and in the beginning they were not the coaches, they were his football coach's not the "Futbol" ones. The coach is a nice kid named Joey who really knows soccer but is a young return missionary with no organization skills. Layne and I had been asked to help out in the beginning because we have experience coaching soccer but today We quit.
I have had it with these crazy men, the one sent an email announcing he is the Owner and manager of the team, the other who keeps telling me he does not want to be in charge keeps taking over but seems to leave us out of his decision making and communication. They seem to only talk to each other and their LDS ward friends. so we have no idea what is happening or who is showing up to coach or if games are cancelled , I have myself on hold waiting, not knowing and I need to keep the household organized and on schedule. I also field calls from angry mothers who know us. The whole thing is a total joke. These men are total controlling high on steroid's "I'm the man I'm the boss" and just real pains in the ass. Today I felt such relief sending the "I quit" email to them. Nate will keep playing but it will be just for fun and nothing serious if we feel like not showing up we won't or if there is something else to do on our Saturday we will be gone. Honestly I have never seen anything like these people in all the years we have volunteered. We have seen a lot in sports, from basketball where parents try to run each other over in parking lots to crazy football & baseball parents who scream and hit their children when they do not win. The leagues are full of ugly people and my suggestion to all young families play instruments. Music can be competitive in the upper grades but musicians are nice good people, the whole sports thing has gotten out of hand and people go crazy putting too much pressure on the kids. What happen to being good sportmans? or just having fun?

Layne AKA drummer, singer extraordinaire

This is not the best video it is from my Cannon Power shot but Layne sang and played drums kinda like Phil Collins. I thought the world should hear him. Nate , Layne and myself all headed to the bands hideout near Jordenelle Reservoir near Park City on a snowy April Saturday. It was beautiful there, his band mate's home was big beautiful log home overlooking the lake. Nate played with his boy Carter and we enjoyed the music.

The concert

The concert was amazing it was recorded for a CD and DVD. I will have to see if we can get copies. I did video tape the high school portion and will try and Post the video on YouTube. Olympus high wind symphony played beautiful, it was the best concert we have attended for the high school. I was a very proud parent with tears in my eyes.
